The challenge

BMI Healthcare wanted to achieve business growth by providing higher quality healthcare than its competitors.

The organization needed to create a shared language and a high-performance culture to enable its change-makers to drive innovation, and wanted to create a leadership development program that would prepare ‘home-grown leaders’ to take on senior roles in the next 12 to 24 months.

In this case study, we explore how a program tailored to BMI’s specific vision and organizational goals elevated its leaders to the next level, preparing them to successfully drive business change for lasting results.

Our impact

Elevating leaders to the next level

BMI Healthcare worked closely with Hult Ashridge to develop its senior executives and nurture advanced management skills. Additionally, a wider selection of BMI employees were given access to the Virtual Ashridge portal.

Engaging events such as Connecting Leaders – with risk sessions facilitated by a professional poker player – were designed to help leaders look at situations from different angles by opening up their change-maker thinking, and elevate them to the next level in their career journeys.

The program’s importance was evident after it was embedded into BMI Healthcare’s broader leadership development strategy, with employees aspiring to join the course as they came through the leadership pipeline.

Recruitment cost efficiencies

Internal hires progressed to executive director positions within 12 to 24 months, which translated to recruitment cost efficiencies for BMI.

Engaging, immersive learning experience

Combining in-person facilitated sessions with online teaching created an adaptable, practical, and immersive learning experience for participants.
