Client story: Arcadis
Harmonizing workforce through L&D
Creating sustainable solutions for society's biggest challenges
Our partnership
Arcadis is a world leader in delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. With over 36,000 employees in 70+ countries, it is dedicated to improving quality of life and tackling societal challenges around resilience, places, and mobility.
“This partnership has opened up a lot of creative room to challenge ourselves and get better at what we can do with our talent groups.”
Sarah Siddique, Regional Head of Talent, Learning and Development, Arcadis
The challenge
Arcadis wanted an adaptive and innovative approach to share knowledge and best practices, and to inspire its current and future change-makers to bring their best ideas and expertise to clients.
Focusing on its workforce in the Middle East, the company wanted to co-create a flexible learning program that would bring together its regional leadership expertise through a range of learning formats, and present participants with many dynamics.
Arcadis needed a partner that could effectively measure their regional evolution, and design a program that would tackle the challenges in the competitive Middle Eastern market.
Our impact
Innovative knowledge sharing through blended learning
The blended learning program included two groups – emerging leaders with 3-8 years’ experience, and advanced leaders with 8-12 years’ experience – that combined to form one program, with separate project streams to reflect different career and development stages.
The project themes included:
Delivering Sustainable Growth
Creating Leadership Legacies
Leveraging Arcadis’ Values
The project output was incredibly positive, with participants connecting their work to other areas of the business. The blended approach encouraged Arcadis to be more innovative and enhance knowledge sharing across the region by piloting different technologies.
Delivered online by Hult Ashridge faculty through monthly masterclasses and the Leadership Live learning portal, the program is also supported by face-to-face action learning sets, enabling participants to directly apply their learning to real business scenarios.
The presence of the Arcadis CEO and senior leaders at times throughout the program demmonstrated the organizational significance of the program.
Long-term business value
A blended, bite-sized learning approach has created incremental gains that deliver sustained business results over time.
Going global
Arcadis aims to use the scalability of the program to reach more employees, by developing the program to support global mobility.
A solid partnership
Arcadis wants to continue collaborating with Hult Ashridge to ensure the program remains innovative, practical, and relevant.
